Southampton are up against Leicester City at the St Mary’s Stadium keen for a first win of the season. The Saints have been able to pick up just a point from the opening two games, while their opponents – Leicester – are just coming on the back of a first win. Follow all our predictions, free bets, football bets and betting tips below.
Betting Tips for the game
Everton were able to defeat Southampton 2-1 in the recent meeting between the two clubs at Goodison Park. This result comes just a week after the goalless draw with Burnley at the St Mary’s Stadium.
Leicester City overcame an opening-day defeat against Manchester United to pick up a 2-0 win over Wolves at the King Power Stadium.
The recent game between Southampton and Leicester was a dull goalless draw back in April. Leicester’s last trip to St Mary’s Stadium saw them pick up a comprehensive 4-1 victory with Shinji Okazaki scoring a brace. Our betting tips and predictions expect a win for Southampton.

Leicester City are at odds of 3.25 to win the game. Yet, we would not think this choice even after a first win of the campaign for the Foxes. Leicester played reasonably well in the opener against Manchester United, but Southampton will be the desperate of the two in order to get a victory in this game. The Saints have only managed a point from the first two matches and Mark Hughes will look to avoid any anxiety issues if the run persists. Our preview would pick a victory for Southampton.

Southampton vs Leicester City draw odds: 3.20
Leicester City win odds: 3.25
Correct Score odds
Southampton and Leicester are low on goals with the two managers having to scratch their heads in order to create attacking opportunities. Southampton do have powerful forwards in the form of Ings and Charlie Austin, while Leicester will be without star centre-forward Jamie Vardy due to suspension. This is expected to lower the total goals in the match and our correct score prediction would go with a Southampton 2-0 win.

Over/Under 2.5 Goals odds
The game is expected to be a tight contest with few chances at both ends of the pitch. This is largely down to a mediocre attack for the two teams. Despite recent history producing several high-scoring encounters between Southampton and Leicester, our total goals prediction would stick with a game that has less than 2.5 goals.

First Goalscorer odds
Danny Ings was able to get off the mark the season in his first start for Southampton. The striker, who is on loan from Liverpool, will be looking to get some much-needed confidence in his boots. Ings’ last goal against Leicester was in the 2013-14 season when his Burnley team were playing in the Championship. Our first goalscorer prediction would pick Ings.
