Millwall can jump ahead of Reading into the safe zone when they entertain them at the Den on Boxing Day. Both teams are winless in the past seven league matches but Reading are currently just ahead of their counterparts in the 21st position with a slender advantage in terms of goal difference. Follow all our predictions, odds, football bets and betting tips below.
Betting Tips for the game
Millwall continued on their dreadful run of form since the beginning of November after they suffered a 1-0 defeat at Stoke City last weekend. Saido Berahino netted the winner for the Potters shortly after the hour mark of the game.
Reading have gone through a similar patch and a slender 1-0 defeat to Middlesbrough was their outcome on Saturday. George Friend helped Boro to return to winning ways with a 77th-minute strike.
The Madejski Stadium was the destination for the last meeting in October 2018 which finished 3-1 in Reading’s favour. The last meeting at the Den saw Millwall come up triumphs by a 2-1 scoreline last year. Our betting tips and predictions fancy Millwall to end their long winless run.

Reading are given a price of 4.50 for the win and this exhibits the difficult challenge on their hands despite possessing the same points as Millwall. The visitors have recently grabbed a couple of away draws at Wigan and Rotherham United but they face a tricky ask of repeating the feat at the Den where Millwall are generally at their strongest. The hosts are winless in the past eight matches including three home games. However, our preview fancies Millwall to return to winning ways.

Correct Score odds
Millwall may have struggled to pick up a single win in the past eight matches but they have certainly improved in terms of the goalscoring. The south London side have netted eight times in the past five matches in their stadium and Reading have scored just once in the past four away trips. Our correct score prediction fancies a Millwall win with a rare clean sheet.

Over/Under 2.5 Goals odds
Millwall’s defensive record at the Den has been far from impressive this term with more than 70 percent of the matches involving at least three goals. Still, Reading are unlikely to provide a serious scoring threat on the road where they have drawn blank in three of the past four matches. Our total goals prediction would back less than 2.5 goals.
[bet_tip_now stars_1_2_3=”3″ block_title=”Goals odds and prediction:”]Total goals under 2.5 at 1.90[/bet_tip_now]
First Goalscorer odds
Lee Gregory has been the shining light for Millwall during the ongoing campaign and he has netted seven times in the 21 Championship matches. The 30-year-old has been in good form of late with two goals in the past three games and he should provide the main threat to the Reading defence with 60 percent of his scoring attempts being on target. Our first goalscorer prediction is to go with Gregory.
