Manchester United will aim to return to winning ways when they host Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night. Jose Mourinho’s side suffered a rather shock 3-2 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend and this has dropped them three points behind their title rivals. Spurs have had no such issues and they are one of the six clubs to have made the perfect start to the season. Follow all our predictions, free bets, football bets and betting tips below.

Betting Tips for the game

United suffered their first league defeat of the season last weekend after losing 3-2 at Brighton. Mourinho’s side were physically dominated throughout the game and the defeat was their straight one at the Falmer Stadium.

Tottenham had no such concerns, as they romped to their second win in as many games. Their 3-1 win over Fulham witnessed Harry Kane break his August hoodoo with his first professional goal during the month.

United’s previous meeting against Tottenham was at the Wembley Stadium where they secured a 2-1 win in the FA Cup semi-final. The last encounter at Old Trafford also went in their favour by a 1-0 scoreline. Our betting tips and predictions expect a draw.

Match odds

Tottenham are 2.87 to secure three points while United are at 2.62 for the same. Old Trafford has not been a happy hunting ground for the visitors with four straight defeats without scoring but given the mood around both sides, they should fancy getting something from the game. United do seem find a way of beating Spurs in their home turf but their defensive organisation remains a concern. Our preview expects a draw.

Manchester United win odds: 2.62

Tottenham Hotspur win odds: 2.87

Correct Score odds

Manchester United have had the dominance over Spurs at Old Trafford and each of the previous three encounters have finished with a 1-0 scoreline. We are fancying another low-scoring contest this time around, but Spurs should end their scoreless run against a vulnerable United defence. United have not keep a clean sheet in their two matches with three goals conceded. Our correct score prediction expects a 1-1 draw.

Over/Under 2.5 Goals odds

Since 2015, United have contested Spurs on four occasions at Old Trafford and just one of those games have resulted in more than two goals. After receiving much criticism last weekend, Mourinho should setup his side with the aim of avoiding a defeat and this should make the game as a low scorer. Our total goals prediction fancies less than 2.5 goals.

First Goalscorer odds

Romelu Lukaku made his first United start against Brighton last weekend and he managed to find the scoresheet despite a disappointing defeat. The Belgian remains a genuine threat when in the opposition box and he should receive most of United’s scoring chances. Lukaku will seek to improve his record against Spurs with just one strike in 10 attempts. Our first goalscorer prediction is to go with Romelu Lukaku.
