Everton take on Chelsea at Goodison Park, which has been a difficult ground for the visitors, this weekend. The Merseyside outfit have endured a difficult few months with the team now slipping into the bottom half as a result of a poor form. Everton, though, are not far away from regaining a place in the top 10. Chelsea remain in the hunt for Champions League spots with the team only three points behind Arsenal while having a game in hand. Follow all our predictions, free bets, football bets and betting tips below.

Betting Tips for the game

Everton lost for the 13th time this season as Newcastle United were able to get a 3-2 victory at St James’ Park. It was a deeply disappointing result for the blues, who had a 2-0 lead after 32 minutes on the clock. Everton have managed one win in the last six games.

Chelsea produced a sparkling five-star performance to beat Dynamo Kyiv 5-0 in the second leg of the Europa League. The Blues progressed into the Europa League last-16 owing to an 8-0 aggregate victory. However, the league match against Wolves last weekend required a last gasp equaliser in the 1-1 draw.

The reverse fixture between Chelsea and Everton produced a goalless draw back in November. The last meeting between these two clubs at Goodison Park also produced a similar result. Our betting tips and predictions expect a draw.

Match odds

Everton were extremely defensive in the recent home game against a top team – Liverpool. It is expected that Marco Silva will go in with a similar tactic after watching his team led slip a two-goal lead against Newcastle last week. Everton have had a week to prepare for this encounter, while Chelsea come on the back of a long travel in Europa League. Furthermore, Goodison Park has not been a happy place for Chelsea in the past and team has picked up just two wins in five visits. Our preview would go with a draw.

Everton win odds: 4.00

Chelsea win odds: 1.95

Correct Score odds

Chelsea have not been outstanding in away matches since the turn of the year. Even though the club still possess one of the best records in the division, Everton’s defensive approach to the game may cause frustration to Maurizio Sarri’s men. Our correct score prediction would opt for a 1-1 draw.

Over/Under 2.5 Goals odds

Both teams have struggled for goals in recent weeks. Chelsea have fared slightly better with 10 goals but they have been defensively poor at the same time. Even though Everton faced criticism for the defensive tactics against Liverpool, Silva may go with the same approach in order to avoid a big defeat. Our total goals prediction would pick under 2.5 goals.

First Goalscorer odds

Eden Hazard has produced back-to-back excellent performances in the league. The Belgian international was not utilised in the Europa League game against Dynamo Kyiv and he will be fresh for this encounter. Hazard has just two goals against Everton in 10 appearances, but his recent form makes our first goalscorer prediction back the 28-year-old.
