Burnley are very close towards securing a fourth straight year in the Premier League and they host Cardiff City at the Turf Moor this weekend. The Clarets are only four points away from hitting the 40-point mark. Even without such an objective, the club holds a comfortable eight-point advantage over the relegation zone. Cardiff City have been taking the fight to avoid relegation in a strong manner and the team are only five points behind Southampton in the 17th place. Betting Tips for the game

Burnley claimed a double over Bournemouth after a 3-1 success at the Vitality Stadium. This resulted in a 7-1 aggregate victory over Bournemouth over the two meetings. This was the second successive victory for Sean Dyche’s men.

Cardiff City were unable to do much against Manchester City and ended up losing 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium. This was the fourth loss in five matches for Neil Warnock’s men, who cannot afford to drop any more points in the race against relegation.

The Clarets are aiming for a double over the Welsh team, as the reverse fixture produced a 2-1 victory for Burnley at the Cardiff City Stadium. The last meeting between the two clubs at Turf Moor was in the Championship back in April 2016. The two teams played out a goalless draw. Our betting tips and predictions would go with a win for Burnley.

Match odds

Cardiff may be playing decent football at the moment but the team has been relying heavily on home results in order to get them out of trouble. Now, however, Cardiff only have two matches at home – with one of them against Liverpool – and it leaves the club with a mountain to climb to avoid relegation. Burnley will be almost safe with a home win. Dyche will be looking to motivate his team as much as possible with the remaining four matches against teams in the top 10. Our preview would go with a win for Burnley.

Cardiff City win odds: 4.33

Correct Score odds

The Clarets have been able to come up with a strong attacking performance. The partnership between Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes continues to dictate their results. The Clarets have scored in each of the last 12 games at the Turf Moor, while Cardiff have failed to score in four out of the last six trips. Our correct score prediction would pick a 2-0 win for Burnley.

Over/Under 2.5 Goals odds

Dyche has seen his team average 1.5 goals per game over the last six matches. Both teams have suffered from a very poor defence with a total of 26 goals conceded in the last six games. Even then, Cardiff’s weak offence – especially on the road – makes our total goals prediction go with under 2.5 goals.

First Goalscorer odds

Ashley Barnes has been able to get into double figures for the campaign after his goal against Bournemouth. Meanwhile, Chris Wood ended his five-game goal drought with a strong performance against Bournemouth. Wood has opened the scoring for Burnley only in two out of the last seven matches at home, but our first goalscorer prediction would pick the New Zealand International.
