Southampton have been coming up with some impressive performances in recent weeks and the team has had an extended time off due to a favourable run of fixtures. However, it remains to be seen if Southampton may be affected by the lack of games for almost a month. Meanwhile, Brighton have been able to keep the momentum going with a strong set of results across all competitions. The AMEX Stadium is a major factor behind Brighton’s strong bid for survival and our preview would go with a win for the home team.

Correct Score odds
Southampton have been able to register a decent return of goals in the last few Premier League games, but there may be rustiness from the Saints as they have not played since March 9. Brighton are not known for goals but they do know how to prevent the opposition from scoring goals. This will be a tight encounter that could result in a 1-0 win for Brighton.

Over/Under 2.5 Goals odds
Ralph Hasenhuttl has made Southampton work extremely hard and this work rate has been producing results even in matches against the big teams. However, Southampton are a difficult team when it comes to keeping clean sheets, but Brighton’s lack of goals could make this game as an eye sore. The battle for survival usually results in a dull game and our total goals prediction would go with under 2.5 goals.

First Goalscorer odds
Florin Andone has produced some strong performances by coming off the bench. However, Glen Murray is expected to start the game after having had an extended rest from football. The international break may have helped the 35-year-old gather energy for the business end of the season. Our first goalscorer prediction would back Glen Murray.
