Betting Tips for the game
Birmingham secured their second league win on the bounce on Boxing Day after getting the better of Southampton by a 2-0 scoreline. Jacques Maghoma and Omar Bogle found the scoresheet in the first and second half respectively.
Brentford, meanwhile, went unbeaten for two matches after settling for a 1-1 draw against Bristol City on the road. Eros Pisano opened the scoring for the hosts in the 20th minute but Brentford equalised shortly after the break through Neal Maupay.
The previous encounter between the sides was at Griffin Park earlier in the season which ended 1-1. The last meeting at St Andrews’ witnessed Brentford secure a 2-0 triumph. Our betting tips and predictions fancy a Birmingham win.

Brentford are given an attractive price of 3.20 for the win but the outcome appears improbable based on their struggles on the road. Brentford have struggled in the Championship this term with just two wins since September and their away run has been much worse with not a single triumph since the backend of the previous season. Birmingham should have the ascendancy after impressing on both sides of the field of late. Our preview is to go for a Birmingham win.

Birmingham City vs Brentford draw odds: 3.30

Correct Score odds
Brentford possess the league’s top-scorer in Neal Maupay in their ranks but this has not necessary helped them in terms of the results. In the past five matches, Birmingham have netted twice the number of goals as Brentford (5) and the same trend could result for the weekend with Monk’s side carrying the momentum after successive league wins. Our correct score prediction is to go for a Birmingham 2-1 win.

Over/Under 2.5 Goals odds
Birmingham have evolved into a regular scoring side since the start of October with five of their previous seven home matches producing more than two goals. The same outcome could beckon with Brentford, given the visitors are likely to welcome an open contest with an in-form Maupay in their ranks. Our total goals prediction is to go more than 2.5 goals.

First Goalscorer odds
Che Adams has been Birmingham’s prime scorer this campaign and he has already amassed 11 goals in the Championship. The 22-year-old has grabbed three of those strikes in the past five matches where he has opened the scoring on the one occasion. Our first goalscorer prediction fancies Adams to continue his good run of form.
