Birmingham City will be aiming to return to winning ways when they entertain a struggling Blackburn Rovers side at St Andrew’s this weekend. The west Midlands outfit recently suffered their first defeat in a month but they are still within playoff contention. Blackburn, meanwhile, are three points behind their counterparts but their form has been dreadful since the beginning of February. Follow all our predictions, free bets, football betsand betting tips below.
Betting Tips for the game
Birmingham recently saw the end of a three-match unbeaten run after they suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to Bolton Wanderers in their home patch. Callum Connolly headed in the winner in the 71stminute.
Blackburn, however, are on a four-match losing streak with their most recent game ending in a 1-0 defeat to Middlesbrough at Elland Road. Britt Assombalonga netted the sole goal in the 19th minute.
Elland Road was the destination for the previous meeting between the sides which ended in a 2-2 draw. The last clash at St Andrew’s Stadium was more than two years ago with Birmingham winning 1-0. Our betting tips and predictions anticipate a Birmingham win.

Blackburn are priced at 3.80 for a victory but we are not predicting this outcome amid their recent dip in form. Tony Mowbray’s side have lost each of the previous four league outings and this does not help them ahead of an away trip, as they have bagged the solitary triumph in the past 10 matches on the road. Hence, Birmingham should prevail with the points, with their better scoring prowess compared to the visitors of late. Our preview favours a Birmingham win.

Birmingham City vs Blackburn Rovers draw odds: 3.10
Blackburn Rovers win odds: 3.80
Correct Score odds
Birmingham have quite clearly been the better scoring side in the past three matches where they have netted six goals compared to Blackburn’s one. They should hold the upper hand over the visitors with a possible shutout which has been the case in five of their previous six league victories. Our correct score prediction is to go with a Birmingham 2-0 win.

Over/Under 2.5 Goals odds
Birmingham have produced less than three goals in 70% of their home matches since December and the same trend may extend this weekend amid Blackburn’s struggles. The visitors have failed to score in the past two trips to St Andrew’s Stadium. Our total goals prediction is to go with less than 2.5 goals.

First Goalscorer odds
Che Adams has been a revelation for Birmingham this term and he has already bagged 19 goals in the Championship. The 22-year-old had netted in five successive games prior to the Bolton setback last weekend, but he can be fancied to find the breakthrough against Blackburn after scoring in the previous meeting. Our first goalscorer prediction is to go with Adams.
