Today, Singapore hosts Formula one’s second ever night race. Over the last few weeks Nelson Piquet’s crash in 2008 has caused controversy and resulted in a two year suspended disqualification for Renault. This year, we hope for a clean race within the rules. Fernando Alonso won last year after the safety car was brought out due to Piquet’s deliberate crash.
Jenson button has a 14 point lead going into the race, but frustration showed in qualifying when his car did not perform and he only managed 12th on the grid. Hamilton again starts on pole as his good run of form continues. He was unlucky in Italy after he span out on the final lap and got 0 points.
This was meant to be an open race for the Brawn cars who are battling it out for the drivers championship. However Rubens Barrichello had an equally bad day when he crashed and had to change his gearbox. This means that he suffers a penalty and so starts in 10th.
Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber who sit 26 and 28.5 points respectively below Button had a good qualifying session and start 2nd and 4th on the grid. This will frustrate Jensen even more as Vettel could cut his lead to just 16 points with a win.
See the starting grid here.
Who will win the Singapore Grand Prix?
Hamilton: 1.6 @ Coral
Vettel: 6.0 @ Sportingbet
Rosberg: 13.0 @ Sportingbet

Good win for Hamilton. It is unfortunate that his car was no good at the beginning of the season.
