The last of the International qualifiers are over, even if the controversy does continue. Henry’s handball goal for France looks like it will stand and they will be heading to the World Cup finals.

Back to the premiership…With a two week break for the players (the ones not on international duty that is), teams could be refeshed. Fernando Torres is supposedly on his way back to fitness for Liverpool and so too is Gerrard. That will surely be happy news for Liverpool fans!

Unfortunately, as so often happens, we have some injuries from the Internationals. The worst of which is Arsenal’s top scorer Van Persie, who has been on excellent form. Although the special treatment he is receiving may mean he will be back to action in the new year. Frank Lampard, who hardly ever gets injured flew home from the England game without even playing. Apparently cost cutting on the flights cramped up his legs and resulted in a thigh injury in training. There were no other major injuries.

The big game of the weekend will probably be Liverpool vs Man City at 12:45 on Saturday. With Liverpool currently under Man City in the table and Man City having drawn their last 5 games, this is an important match for both teams.

This week Fulham, Blackburn, Hull and Everton all play twice. Their 2nd games will take place on wednesday.
