Wolves v Man City Betting Tips

Posted on 18 April 2012 by Joseph in Football, headline

Second place Manchester City travel to bottom of the table Wolves on Sunday afternoon.

Wolves managed a good point away to Sunderland over the weekend, but they look all but relegated. Terry Connor’s side are eight points adrift from safety with just twelve points to play for.

This is not a game that the Midlands club will be expected to get much from, however with the gap between them and 17th place you would feel some sort of result is vital here.

Connor will see that his side have Swansea, Everton and Wigan to play after this, which could all be winnable games. They will have to win all three to stand a chance of playing in the top flight of English football next campaign.

Confidence is not high at Molineux, players don’t seem to have too much belief and fans have given up hope. That said everyone at the club will be looking to join together and make one final push to avoid the drop.

Manchester City had a fantastic win at the weekend over Norwich, smashing The Canaries 6-1. City looked back to their very best at Carrow Road and really did show a master class in finishing.

Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez were at times unplayable in that game, with them both now firing on all cylinders this title race could be far from finished.

Roberto Mancini’s side are five points behind Manchester United in first place, with Sir Alex Ferguson’s men still to come to the Ethiad, Mancini will just want his side to win games and put pressure on United.

City have now won back to back wins in the Premier League, scoring ten goals. Before these two games they had gone three games without a win so it has been a welcome return to form for the Citizens.

Match Odds

Unsurprisingly Manchester City go into the game as massive favourites. Bet365 are offering odds of 1.25 (1/4) on City taking all three points.

Wolves know it will take something special for them to pull off a victory on Sunday. Terry Connor’s side are 13.00 (12/1) with VC Bet. A draw is 5.00 (4/1) with BlueSQ.

First Goal-Scorer

After their performances over the weekend Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero are looking like the best bet to get scoring underway at Molineux, they both have odds of 6.00 (5/1) with Paddy Power.

Wolves leading scorer Steven Fletcher is being offered at 13.00 (12/1) with SkyBet. Fletcher has ten goals in the league so far this season.

Recommended Bet

Carlos Tevez scored a hat-trick against Norwich at the weekend. BetFred has odds of 17.00 (16/1) on the Argentina striker scoring three goals for the second game in a row.
