Real Madrid host Bayern Munich on Wednesday evening at the Bernabeu in the Champions League semi-final second leg.
The German side came out 2-1 winners in the first leg at the Allianz Arena.
Madrid will go into this game with extremely high spirits after a fantastic 2-1 win over local rivals Barcelona at the Nou Camp on Saturday evening.
The win put Jose Mourinho’s side seven points clear of second place Barcelona. With just four games remaining it looks all but certain that Mourinho will lead his side to their first La Liga win in four years.
The Spanish giants have been unstoppable at home in the Champions League this season, winning all five games and scoring 22 goals and conceding just five. With an all important away goal as well, Madrid will be confident of progressing to the final.
Madrid last lifted the trophy in 2008, should they win it this year it will surly put Jose Mourinho and his team as one of the best in a while. They have been living in the shadow of Barcelona so will be wanting to prove they are still the biggest team in Spain.
As for Bayern Munich, they will be very happy with their performance in the first leg, bouncing back well with a late Mario Gomez goal after Real Madrid had equalised not long before.
Hopes of a Bundesliga title are very small this season, Bayern are currently eight points behind Borussia Dortmund so will be desperate to deliver success on the in Europe to make up for the dissapointment of not winning the league.
Munich have lost just one game in 13 across all competitions, form that will certainly have brought some confidence into the dressing room.
Josef Heynckes will be looking for Mario Gomez to find the back of net this week, the striker has 13 goals in the competition this season and will have the added boost of knowing he is capable of scoring against his opponents.
