The Premier League season gets underway this weekend and one of the pick of the fixtures looks to be Newcastle v Tottenham.
The two sides had impressive campaigns last time out and now go head to head at the Sports Direct Arena on Saturday.
Looking at the home side to begin with, the will be looking to emulate their success of the last season when they finished fifth.
Alan Pardew’s men will know what a tough ask it would be to repeat that position, however will feel confident about doing so.
The two Senegalese striker’s Papiss Cisse and Demba Ba will have high hopes of finding the net on a regular basis this season.
When Cisse joined in January, he really set the Premier League alight – scoring goals of the highest quality.
The Magpies looks to be another strong outfit this year and they have managed to keep their star men at the club which will give fans high hopes of challenging for the Champions League yet again.
As for Tottenham, they begin life under a new era as Andre Villas Boas takes charge of his first competitive game at the helm of the side.
Spurs of course missed out on a Champions League place this season despite finishing in fourth place. This was due to Chelsea’s success in the tournament.
This time out, they will want to make a genuine challenge for the title but will know that they may have to upset the odds to do so.
Villas Boas will be hopeful about adding to his attacking options this week before the campaign starts as Jermain Defoe is currently by far and away the most experienced front man at the club.
New singing Gylfi Sigurdsson will be looking to prove himself at the club and will want a big performance on Saturday.
It looks set to be a cracker between these two teams who will be looking to play attacking football.
