Posted on 07 May 2012 by Joseph in Football, headline

The Premier League season draws to a close this weekend with so much still to be decided. One of the pick of the games has to be Manchester City v Queens Park Rangers from the Ethiad Stadium where both sides are desperate for the points for very different reasons.

Manchester City know that a win would all but guarantee them the title as they are currently level on points with second placed Manchester United, but have an eight goal superior goal difference.

Roberto Mancini’s side have really looked like champions over recent weeks, winning their last five matches, conceding just one goal in the process.

With a fantastic win over in form Newcastle on Sunday, Mancini’s men look to have one eye on their first ever Premier League trophy.

The Citizen’s are still unbeaten on home soil in the league this season and have only dropped points on one occasion so will most certainly be favourites this weekend.

In Yaya Toure, City have one of the best midfielders in world football. Toure showed just how versatile he is against Newcastle after being switched into a more attacking role in the second half, the Ivory Coast international scored twice and won his side the game.

As for QPR, they gave themselves a huge chance of survival after a late 1-0 win over Stoke on Sunday at Loftus Road.

Rangers are now two points clear from relegation going into the final game, with a better goal difference than the teams behind them, a point here could secure survival.

However, Mark Hughes men have not enjoyed much success on the road this campaign, failing to win in their last twelve games. They have also lost their last six on their travels.

Djibril Cisse could play a big part in QPR staying in the league, the French international has scored five times in seven appereaces for the London side, including the winner against Stoke at the weekend.
