FA Cup Final Betting Tips

Posted on 30 April 2012 by Joseph in Football, headline

The FA Cup final takes place on Saturday when Liverpool and Chelsea go head to head at Wembley.

Chelsea find themselves in a Champions League final as well as the FA Cup so it could still prove to be a quite incredible season for The Blues.

Both Andre Villas Boas and Roberto Di Matteo have been in charge in this cup run, which has seen the London side score 18 goals in five matches.

The six time winners did require two legs against Birmingham after the Championship side managed a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge.

The highlight of their FA Cup run this season will most certainly be the 5-1 thrashing over London rivals Spurs in the semi-final at Wembley. Roberto Di Matteo’s side were fantastic that day and Didier Drogba scored a goal that was right out of the top drawer.

Chelsea have won this trophy three times in the last five years so will be confident of making it another successful day on Saturday.

As for Liverpool, they will be looking to add to their Carling Cup win earlier in the season. Kenny Dalglish’s side have not met expectations in the league this season, however another cup success this weekend would make up for a poor Premier League campaign.

The Reds have enjoyed a fairly comfortable journey in getting to the final, playing every game at home, except the semi-final which was at Wembley.

A 2-1 win over Manchester United in the fourth round will go down as a highlight with the Anfield faithful.

Luiz Suarez has score in each of the last three matches in the FA Cup, with the striker looking in great form he will certainly be a handful for Chelsea.

The Merseysiders last won the trophy back in 2006 after beating West Ham in one of the greatest final’s ever. Liverpool fans will certainly be looking for something similar this weekend.

Match Odds

With their recent form its no surprise that Chelsea go into the game as slight favourites. BoyleSports are offering 2.50 (6/4) on them winning in 90 minutes.

Liverpool will have to upset the odds to win at Wembley. You can back them 3.10 (21/10) to win in 90 minutes with VC Bet. SkyBet are offering 3.25 (9/4) on this game going into extra time.

First Goal-Scorer

In form strikers Fernando Torres, Didier Drogba and Luiz Suarez are all joint favourites to getting the goal-scoring underway. They are available a 8.00 (7/1) with William Hill.

Recommended Bet

It’s sure to be a great game and goals are all but guaranteed between two sides that love to attack. Bet365 are offering 34.00 (33/1) on Chelsea winning the game 3-2 after 90 minutes.
