The Third and final Test match between England and West Indies gets underway next week when the two sides go head to head at Edgbaston.
England are currently 2-0 up in the series after an extremely convincing victory at Trent Bridge where they won by nine wickets.
The match was fairly even until the final session of the third day, when The Three Lions had their opponents 61/6 at the close of play. Before this collapse from the West Indies the match was fairly even.
Tim Bresnan took eight wickets in the game, including three in that evening session that put the game massively in his sides favour.
Andrew Strauss continued his fantastic form at Trent Bridge by scoring another century in the first innings and 45 in the second.
In this third Test Strauss could look to change a few things around in the team with the series wrapped up. Jimmy Anderson and Stuart Broad could find themselves rested with a long summer of cricket ahead.
Strauss’ men put in a thoroughly professional performance and showed just why they are the number one side in the world last time out. When they needed to, they raised their game and showed the difference in class between the two teams.
As for West Indies, they have by no means disgraced themselves in this tour of England so far, however they will be disappointed that they cannot stay consistent for the whole match.
Marlon Samuels has been the man in form with the bat, scoring 117 and 76 in the two innings. Samuels also took three wickets.
Darren Sammy will be concerned by the form of his top three batsman, they scored just 70 runs between them in the entire Test match. Sammy will know if his side are to start winning games then his top order must improve.
Match Odds
Unsurprisingly England go into the Test as massive favourites to take the series 3-0, they are being offered at 1.40 (2/5) with William Hill.
West Indies know that they will need to upset the odds to take some pride from Edgbaston. You can back them at 10.00 (9/1) with BoyleSports to make the series 2-1. A draw is available at 4.50 (7/2) with Bet365.
Top England Batsman
With his recent great form, Andrew Strauss is one of the favourites to be England’s top batsman in this third test. He has odds of 5.00 (4/1) with VC Bet.
Marlon Samuels is a player with a lot of confidence at the crease at the moment and you can back him at 5.50 (9/2) with Ladbrokes to be his sides leading run scorer.
Recommended Bet
Graham Swann has not had a great deal to do in this series so far and he could come into play in Birmingham. A recommended bet is for Swann to be England’s top bowler in the match which has odds of 3.50 (7/2) with BlueSQ.
