This weekend’s Super Sunday sees in-form duo Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur go head to head at St James Park.
A fitting climax to the weekend’s action in the Premier League, these two teams have been excellent in recent weeks and it is set to be an incredibly competitive contest.
Newcastle in particular will be delighted with the start they have made to the current campaign. They remain unbeaten after seven games and sit 4th in the table.
Considering the summer months were far from ideal – they sold a few key players and didn’t spend as much as the fans would have liked – it really has been a superb few weeks for Alan Pardew’s men.
As for Tottenham, they have been back to somewhere near their best of late with four wins in succession after suffering a hammering at the hands of Manchester City back in August.
They now now sixth in the Premier League, although they do have a game in hand on most of their nearest rivals.
Therefore, three points on Sunday would leave them in an excellent position to consolidate a place in the top four over the next few weeks.
Looking at the team news for this one, Newcastle duo Demba Ba and Yohan Cabaye are set to be fit despite picking up injuries while playing for their countries during the week, although Danny Guthrie and Sammy Ameobi are doubtful.
For Tottenham, Vedran Corluka and Niko Kranjcar have been ruled out and there will be a late fitness test for in-form striker Emmanuel Adebayor.
Overall, this should be a cracking match between two teams who like to play attacking, no holds barred football.

First goalscorer
