Valencia vs Manchester United

Posted on 29 September 2010 by admin in Football, headline

Manchester United travel to Spain on Wednesday for the clash against league leaders Valencia.

After the draw against Rangers in their first Champions League game of the season United will be really hoping for three points from this match.

The importance of this clash was made apparent when Sir Alex Ferguson missed the Carling Cup game against Scunthorpe to see Valencia play. The Spanish team are top of their table having not lost a game so far this season.

Although United have also not yet lost a game this season they have been leaking a lot of goals which has led to disappointing draws. Wayne Rooney and Ryan Giggs will miss the game after picking up injuries, so the in-form Berbatov will have to lead the line.

Valencia have not lost at home to Manchester United in their three previous encounters. Also, United have only ever won once away against a Spanish team, reflecting the match odds of: Valencia 2.7, Man Utd 3.0 and the Draw 3.3.

United have failed to score in their last three visits to Spanish opponents and Valencia are in great form this season. It will be a tough game, but Sir Alex’s team certainly have the skill to beat anybody. Don’t forget to make your Champions League bets.

Looking at the Over/Under 2.5 Goals market, this game has potential for goals. Observing the stats, three from five of Valencia’s league games have had three goals or more, while all of United’s have had three goals or more. The Over 2.5 goal price is 2.26 which looks like a good pick. What looks even better though is 1.9 for both teams to score. United are leaking goals at the moment, but also have Berbatov in great form at the other end. It’s not hard to see a few goals going in at both ends in tonight’s game.
