Manchester Utd vs Bayern

Manchester United play the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Bayern Munich tonight and hope to overturn the current 2-1 aggregate.

The biggest name (although he won’t be playing) flying around the news sites is WAYNE ROONEY. His absence without a doubt will please Bayern and is likely to influence the whole game. Our tip is under 2.5 goals @ Betfair – 2.16.. Bayern have a few good attacking players such as Ribery and maybe Robben if he is fit, however Utd are likely to defend strongly to facilitate their progress into the next round.

Since the 2-1 defeat to Bayern, Utd lost with the same scoreline to Chelsea on the weekend. The team have a lack of goals without Rooney’s presence on the field, however this leg takes place at Old Trafford which gives them an obvious home advantage. United’s strength is their defence and if they can avoid Bayern Munich scoring and they themselves can get a goal, they will progress to the next round on away goals.

Before the last 2 games, Utd had conceded just twice in the last 7 games. If they maintain this strong defence, and they are likely to go into the game cautiously, they have a great chance of going through to the semis. Betfair backs this @ 1.97.

Other bet tips are: United: 1-0 and 2-0 at 9.2 and 10.0 @ Betfair. Also Utd to keep a clean sheet at 2.76 @ Betfair.
