Manchester United vs Newcastle preview

Posted on 14 August 2010 by admin in Football, headline

Newboys West Brom have a difficult task on Sunday against title holders Chelsea, but Newcastle United have an equally difficult challenge on Monday when they visit Old Trafford.

United are underrated as second favourite for the title in our opinion. They suffered a lot last year with defensive problems and there was a long period where midfielders had to fill in for injuries. Even so, they still finished just one point behind Chelsea at the end of the season.

As well as more options in defence this year, Sir Alex Ferguson had strengthened his strike-force somewhat this season. Where last year Wayne Rooney often had to cope on his own, they now have the likes of Javier Hernandez and Bebe with Federico Macheda, Owen and Berbatov all fit as well.

Newcastle’s arrival back in the Premier League will have delighted fans, but a trip to Manchester in the first week of the season would not have been their ideal option. It’s good to get these matches over with though and although Newcastle will try to put up a fight, they are unlikely to get much out of this game.

Back Wayne Rooney to score @ [2.0]
Back Manchester United to win 2-0 @ [7.0]
