In Spain this weekend there is a lot of anticipation in La Liga. Barcelona nearly lost their 2 point lead over Real Madrid last week. The two Spanish giants play again on Saturday evening, however Barcelona get a chance to apply pressure this time by playing earlier.
Barcelona should beat Almeria (at 1.3), leaving Real Madrid with a tough home match with fourth-placed Sevilla. Can they keep up the pace? Sevilla haven’t yet drawn any away games – they have won six and lost five. This means that the 9.0 on offer for a shock away win is too good an opportunity to miss! In the following day’s games on Sunday, Bilbao are likely to beat a Valladolid side who have just won one away game all season and haven’t won in nine (the home win is 1.77), and Atletico Madrid seem to be hitting their best form just at the right time for a top-6 push. If you back them to win in Zaragoza at2.78 you could make a good profit.

In Portugalthe top four are all in action. The Leaders Benfica play last, on Sunday night, against a Pacos team who are in great form having scored 5 last weekend. This makes the draw a good option to think about. At 6.2, going for the draw good reap rewards, particularly as the pressure could be on the home side. Moving on, if Braga beat struggling Vitoria Setubal (which they should do at 1.6), Benfica will find themselves in 2ns place. This leaves Porto (1.3 to win) and Sporting (1.6) – both of whom are pretty much out of the title race – to pick up comfortable victories against relegation-threatened sides.

In Holland there is only one live game from the Eredivisie this weekend. The game is Ajax vs Rotterdam showing on ESPN on Sunday. Seven points off the top in 3rd place, Ajax don’t have much chance of winning the title but they will want to at least snatch a Champions League spot. A win against a Rotterdam side with just 1 win in 7 is going to be a strong possibility. Their form supports this looking at the 17 goals in their last 5 league games. You can bet on the over 3.5 goals at 2.2.
Sparta Rotterdam v Ajax, ESPN, Sun 11.30am
