England vs France preview

Posted on 17 November 2010 by admin in Football, headline

Fabio Capello is likely to put out a very unfamiliar side against France tonight.

Most of the call-ups have been forced due to injuries to key players such as Wayne Rooney, Frank Lampard, John Terry and Ashley Cole. Subsequently though, these injuries have benefited younger players. New squad members now include Andy Carroll, Kieran Gibbs and Jordan Henderson.

Most of the talk has been about Andy Carroll and his life off the pitch, but he has given a chance and he is likely to start against France. Capello will be hoping he can translate his club form onto the international scene. His price is around 3.8 to score tonight.

The England team are priced at 2.5 to walk away with a win tonight which seems a bit short considering all the newcomers and their last 0-0 performance against Montenegro. There are too many key players out of the game to be anywhere near certain of a win.

France are priced at 3.45 and although they had a disastrous World Cup, most of the players who were suspended are now back in the squad, bar Patrice Evra and Nicolas Anelka who still haven’t been forgiven. The France team have been playing well recently and their young side looks an exciting prospect for the future.

Now, were are not saying here that France are going to beat England in this game, but you have to be aware of the stats. France have beaten England in all three of the last meetings and with the inexperience in the England team tonight, they might not have what it takes to complete the task.

It could however be another one of those boring international friendlies which ends in a draw – priced at 3.2. You can also grab a 0-0 draw at 8.4.
