Don’t miss the odds on Barcelona

Posted on 22 April 2010 by admin in Football

Barca were not at their best against Inter, but this is great news for the betting market. An Inter Milan home team was always going to be hard to beat, but even so, it was a surprise that they came out 3-1 winners. After the first goal Inter managed to keep Barcelona’s big guns unusually quiet. This means that Inter are now favourites to win the competition (2.7 @ Betfair) and Barcelona are now 3.2.

Now at those odds you can’t possibly not think about backing what many people are calling the best squad ever assembled?

For a start, they can’t really play that poorly again. They can only get better. There are a few things we can take into account.

Firstly Pep Guardiola’s men had to travel by coach to the San Siro because of the Iceland Volcano problems. This 2 day trip would without doubt have drained the players at least a little.

Secondly, Inter had the home advantage and were expected to be a tough test. Inter managed to stop Barca scoring away back when they played in the group stage and then they came back to win 2-0 in the opposite fixture. Incidentally that’s the scoreline that they need to progress to the final when Inter visit next week. The away goal will prove very important for them in this case.

The question is, do you think Barca can score 2 goals at home in the Nou Camp? Hmmm…risk it for 3.2 odds on them lifting the trophy this year.

If you want the other option, Inter are 2.7 to go on and lift the Champions League trophy.
