Champions League draws

After the Champions League draws last week it was determined that Man Utd and Arsenal cannot meet each other until the final of the competition. Of the 2, Arsenal face the toughest challenge to get there. They face Barcelona, the current holders, and who beat them in the 2006 quarter-finals. To make it worse, Arsenal will play the second leg in Spain.

Before the draw, Arsenal were 8.4 to win the cup. Their impressive displays and their 5-0 victory over Porto in the previous round made them a very popular bet. However the odds have now drifted to 12.0 @ Betfair after being given the hardest possible draw against the 3.0 favourites Bracelona.

Manchester United’s odds shortened slightly after being drawn against Bayern Munich. They were 5.3 to win the competition, but are now slightly less value at 4.5 @ Betfair. If they win the Bayern Munich tie, then United will face either French side – Lyon or Bordeaux.

Inter Milan have a fairly easy draw against CSKA Moscow who are rated at 60.0 @ Betfair to win the competition.

Bordeaux who are the only unbeaten team in the competition so far have dropped from 27 to 23 @ Betfair. They have a good chance against Lyon, but then could be handed a tough tie against Manchester United if they progress to the next round.
