Sunday sees the Valencia European Grand Prix in Spain after a short break from Formula 1. The last race was just a little under a month ago in Hungary, which saw Hamilton win his first race of the season. After the disappointment that Michael Schumacher will not make his F1 comeback after all we can still expect an exciting race in Spain on Sunday.
Lewis Hamilton had a great qualifying session to continue his re-found form. He lines up first on the grid. The McLaren team, who introduced major aerodynamic changes to their cars before the German grand prix, hope to re-ignite their presence at the top of the standings.
Jenson Button still sits a massive 51 points above Hamilton in the table though and he would like to see his Braun GP team help him keep pushing the other drivers. After an amazing start to the F1 season, Button saw his leading gap close after a drop in performances over the last few races. However he still has an 18.5 lead over closest rival Mark Webber of the Red Bull team.
Top 10 Qualifying
01-Lewis Hamilton
02-Heikki Kovalainen
03-Rubens Barrichello
04-Sebastian Vettel
05-Jenson Button

Lewis Hamilton’s great pole qualifying was enhanced by teammate Heikki Kovalainen capturing 2nd position. With the right strategy and careful driving it could be a 1-2 finish for those two. Meanwhile Jenson Button in 5th spot should be at least happy that his closest rival Mark Webber only managed 9th in qualifying. Although Sebastian Vettel, who is only 4.5 points behind Webber qualified in 4th above Button.
