Christmas is coming, the Premiership is getting hot, there are lots of goals heading for the back of the net!

Liverpool’s win last week at Everton has bumped them back upto 5th. After weeks of bad form, the one win puts them within 3 points off 3rd place. It seems that all the teams around them drawing and losing has really helped them out.

Chelsea put a solid grip on their Premiership top spot after their 3-0 win over Arsenal, but then both teams lost in the mid-week Carling Cup games. Chelsea travel to Man City this week. Can they get a good win at City? Well after 7 draws in a row and a leaky defense suggests that yes they probably can.

@ Paddy Power have a money-back special on the game: If Nicolas Anelka scores last in this match @ Paddy Power will refund all losing 1st /last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast singles on the match.

The Blackburn side who beat Chelsea in mid-week host Liverpool this week. Can they dampen Liverpool’s resurgence hopes?…It depends if Torres is fit to play or not.

Avram Grant who is hoping to sign new players for his newly assigned Portsmouth side will be a bit annoyed this week. The players haven’t been paid their wages for a second time this season. Any player they try and attract to he club could well be put off by this news!

West Ham who host Manchester United this week will be without Carlton Cole for a few weeks. The striker has a knee ligament injury that could keep him out for a number of games. Of course Man Utd will be happy about this. They are trying to close Chelsea’s 5 point gap over them during the Xmas period.
