Premiership betting (wk34) Man Utd v Tottenham

Posted on 24 April 2009 by admin in Football

After the second 4-4 draw in a week for English teams, you can see the end of the season is near. Teams are either putting extra effort in or making more mistakes, whatever it is you got 500/1 odds in mid-week from Paddy Power after they said it couldn’t happen twice! It did of course and some people cashed in nicely.

It looks like Man Utd have cemented their place at the top of the league. They have their game in hand against Wigan coming up in a few weeks and are already 3 points clear of Liverpool who’s draw with Arsenal in mid-week and their numerous slip-ups over the season has possibly cost them their first Premiership title.

There is a tough game for relegation bound Middlesbrough this week against an Arsenal team with new life. Equally important is Newcastle’s game against Portsmouth. Its a very worrying time for temperate manager Alan Shearer. So much so, there was speculation a couple of weeks ago that he would line himself up in the starting 11. Sky Bet openend bets on whether this would happen and it was so popular that odds were slashed from 100/1 down to 20/1.
