The final match in World Cup qualifying takes place today. England play Belarus at Wembley and will hope that they can overcome their small “blip” in Ukraine. Although there were negatives from the game, there were also positives. Wayne Rooney shone bright as England played most of the game with 10 men and they did have chances to draw and even win the match. The game against Belarus will be played without Rooney as he picked up a small injury in Ukraine. Capello is likely to give some of his fringe players a run-out. With Defoe also injured, Crouch will likely be given a start. David James looks set to maintain the goalkeeper position now that Rob Green is suspended.

This game could see a lot of goals. Belarus can’t qualify for the World Cup now and have nothing to lose. This means that they could attack more leaving gaps for England to pass into. Let’s hope England cap off their qualifying campaign with a good win.

In my view, wayne rooney is without question the top footballer in the globe, and i can’t wait to see him earn the golden boot for the most goals obtained in this world cup.
