England vs Belarus odds

Posted on 14 October 2008 by admin in Football

The England performance against kazakhstan was not as good as the against Croatia, but it was a good win none the less. There was a time when England would have been unable to find the drive to go on and win a game like that, but Capello made the needed changes immediately in the second half, and England got the solid victory they wanted.

Now Belarus is not a team you hear much about. They have a population of 10 million and cover roughly the same area as the UK. Their team is captained by Alexander Hleb who was made famous at Arsenal before he left for Barcelona this past summer.

England can’t make any mistakes against this team. Looking back at their past few results they can upset teams. They have only lost one game recently and that was to a last kick of the game penalty against Ukraine.

vs Andorra 3-1 – win
vs Ukraine 1-0 – loss
vs Argentina 0-0 – Draw
vs Finland 1-1 – Draw
vs Germany 2-2 – Draw

There are some big opponents in that list and Belarus managed to hold on pretty well. They also shocked the Netherlands in Euro 2008 qualifying with a 2-1 win, so this is a game England need to collect the positives from their previous 3 wins in qualifying and be on the top of their game.

England also have a few defensive problems with John Terry still and and a big possiblity that Ashley Cole won’t play.
